James Weber, M.D., is the Chief Executive Officer of The Specialty Alliance and the Founder of GI Alliance, the nation’s largest independent gastroenterology (GI) provider network. As a practicing gastroenterologist, Dr. Weber’s vision of building a premier, physician-led organization centered on patient care, quality, and innovation continues to drive both organizations’ success.

Dr. Weber reinforces his Patient-First philosophy through ongoing clinical practice, providing care to patients at GI Alliance’s Lone Star Endoscopy in Southlake, Texas. In 1995, he founded Texas Digestive Disease Consultants (TDDC) and served as its president until establishing GI Alliance in 2018.

In 2022, Dr. Weber served as President and Board Chair of the Digestive Health Physician Association (DHPA), a national nonprofit organization representing over 2,300 gastroenterologists and their patients through advocacy, education, and public policy initiatives.

A recognized leader in digestive health, Dr. Weber has been honored as “Doctor of the Year” by the Crohn’s and Colitis Foundation of North Texas, “Best Doctors in Dallas” by D Magazine, and “Top Doctors in Tarrant County” by Fort Worth Magazine. He frequently speaks at national conferences on advancing high-quality, patient-centered GI care.

Dr. Weber earned his medical degree from the University of Texas Southwestern Medical School, completed his internal medicine residency at Parkland Memorial Hospital, and his gastroenterology fellowship at Baylor University Medical Center in Dallas, Texas. He is Board Certified in Internal Medicine and Gastroenterology.
